XD trigger pull weight questions
This is a simple question but why does the trigger pound weight vary on each pistol? Why is there a difference between pistol a and pistol b ? thanks

Yes there can be as much as a 1-2lb difference in some guns.

Difference in tolerances.
It's not poor quality; I mean what can you expect? There are a lot of variables: springs, the metal the spring are from, fit of internal parts...

Sometimes the springs are the first run off the machine and not heated up by the machines, the cutter for the strikers or sears could be the first cut and this has an effect on how the parts intermingle. You buy a mass produced gun you get differences in tolerances.

1) The friction of the sear face as it slides down the striker tab face. 2) The amount that the sear causes the striker to deflect to the rear. The friction is due mainle to roughness of the black oxide coating. That can vary a lot, it's not controlled. It's also why guns get lighter pulls after a few thousand trigger pulls (that coating is worn smooth). |

If you tighten manufacturing tolerances, the cost to manufacture shoots up. Are you willing to pay Lamborghini prices for XDs so that everyone gets the exact same trigger pull weight?
