Alright, I never expected such an anticipation of a promised post, so here it is:

Recently I acquired an XD45LE service model with OD frame. Being the
inquisitive sole as most of the posters to this forum appear to be likewise,
I had to know.

I had to know if the parts for the XD45LE are interchangeable with the other machines from the HS2K, XD and SA models.

First, I removed the slide from the XD45LE and installed it on an HS2K G1,
G2, G3, XD357, XD40 and SA357 lowers. Not all at one time mind you as
that would be stretching my story. With the upper on each of the listed
lowers, I was able to shoot with the XD45LE slide with no problems what so ever. Ziltch problems.

Then I removed the barrel from the XD45LE slide and attemped to install it
on all of the other machines listed above. No go! The .45GAP barrel will
only function in the upper that was designed for it. Comparing the other
slides with the .45GAP slide, one can quickly see the machined out area
to accomodate the ejector of the slide and also the different extractor lip.

Still being the tinkerer, I installed barrels from the 357SIGs and the .40S&W into the XD45LE slide, reinstalled it on the slated frame and it worked on it's own frame, that of the XD357, XD40 and the SA357. I did not try it on the HS2K G1, G2 nor the G3 because of the ...well you know why, they just do not fit.

Conclusion: on my end, I can confirm that the lowers of the product that we owners love so well, will interchange with all the uppers that are mentioned above and function also.

I like HS2Ks, SA357s, XDs. Hell, I would even like Marko's SA40 if he
would part with it. For the somewhat new members, Marko is one of the
original members to this forum.
