Last time I was at walmart the 100 rounds of WWB were about 18.00 for 9mm, 24.00 for .40, not sure on .45, but WAS about 29.00 before the increases, prob 33.00 or so now.

And egads I got a 20 rd box of hp goldot .40's today at a gun store- 28.00!

That's a brutal price on GoldDots...I get them for 18.99 for 20 in .45 acp and even that's not really a great price. Ammunitiontogo.com has great prices for 50 round boxes of GoldDots.

What do you have? Want to sell one?
45C....yeah, but it's still not as small as an SC..and although the barrel is in your pants, the 3" is still more comfortable than a 4" when sitting...I tried to conceal with a 4" service model for a while..and the 3" is much more comfortable

22s....I let my boys shoot 'em...ruger 10/22 and a Beretta Neos

sorry

I'm getting a hiking/hunting/camping gun and can't decide if I want the Alaskan 454 or the S&W 329PD .44 Mag. I handled both recently and was impressed by them. I like Rugers, and the Alaskan is a sweet and rugged gun, and the thought of having that big round in bear country is very appealing, but it's still relatively heavy. But the S&W 329PD is scandium framed with a titanium cylinder and is so darn light (25oz) that I would be much more likely to take it with me and of course it can also shoot .44 Special.

I don't have trouble with my XD at 4" or my 5" 1911 when it comes to comfort. I've never carried anything less than 4", so I have no reference point. All I know is I don't have trouble carrying what I own at the moment.

That is a awfully light for a .44...that's lighter than my XD in .45 acp and only 3 ounces heavier than a Kahr MK9 in 9mm.

Yeah, it will have some recoil, but it's a one-purpose gun. I'd be much more likely to take it hiking/backpacking.

That really depends on where you carry, as you can see in my signature I have both a XD9sc and an XD45 Compact and the only time the 9sc is better is if I carry forward of my hip in the 10:00 - 2:00 position. When seated the 4" barrel of the 45 Compact can press against my leg. I generally carry from 3:00 to 5:00 and the 45 Compact has never been a problem. I must carry concealed all the time when working always carry the 45 Compact with 2 spare 13 round mags. For a quick run to the store I carry a 7 shot 2" 357 mag stuffed in my belt. I do like the high capacity of the 9mm full size mags but when you look at both guns, with the more concealable 10 round mags, I'd rather have the 45's stopping power. I really don't remember the last time I carried the sc.
