Two things I should warn you about these type of holsters; without a reinforced mouth these holster will collapse as soon as you pull the gun making them very hard to re-holster. Also holsters of this type are not rigid and when you tighten your belt they will collapse making the gun hard to draw. The metal clip type attachment is very loose allowing the holster to move around on your belt this is a real problem when you have to draw the gun as the holster will come up with the gun. If you are determined to get this type of holster take a look at one by Mil-Tec Soft Armor which has a little reinforcement to prevent collapsing. Mil-tech Soft Armor The #36 fit the XDs very well but I still don't like the metal clip.

Excellent point. Yet another reason why Kydex is a good thing.

I have a cheapy nylon holster and rarely use it because it has the metal clip and doesn't hold the gun in place. I constantly have to adjust it because it cants forward or backward depending on sitting and standing up and simply moving around.

I've never had it come off the belt, but I don't care for it. It got mine for about $12 bucks.

The metal clips just plain suck on these holsters. I have a double mag pouch with one of those clips and a belt loop...I'd rather deal with taking my belt on and off over dealing with that crappy clip.

When it comes to most holsters, I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for.

Stiff leather works as well...just nylon without reinforcement is pretty much garbage.

I started off with an inexpensive holster, it didn't fit or function very well. It might have been cardboard. I then ordered a very nice looking leather w/reinforced upper. It looked good, but I could never get comfortable with it. It was too thick and just didn't feel right. I then read a number of posts about this Crossbreed. They have a time that you can wear it, if your not satisfied with it, return it... only costs is shipping. I decided it was worth a try. I did and we have been together ever since!

My vote: spend the extra bucks, pass on a few of those lattes, or whatever you consider a pleasure and do it right! You will be rewarded many times over.

Try index. They are some of the gun shows around central NC, maybe one near you. I carry my 1911 in one of their holsters almost every day.
