I got an AR that shoots a .22 caliber round. It would be my preferred weapon.

Oh and yes, it's true: .22 is famous for being used by assasins. Why?
Because it's small, accurate and leaves no (immediatelly) visible gun shot wound on the victim and gives time for an assasin to leave the scene unnoticed.

Russian snipers used it in Chechnya in their .22 sniper rifles and were taking out rebbels from concealed positions (buldings, urban enviroment), usually hitting them in the neck area.

Somehow I perceive your title to this thread as "The End of all 9MM's"
Like I assume the thread will be about how you going to talk down the 9mm. I was wrong I guess.

I also believe 9mm is suffice in JHP ammo's.

9mm is a fine round, cheap to shoot, higher capacity magazines. etc.

As everyone else said its all in shot placement. The title of thread leads me to believe you want to know what gun to get for 9mm, the answer to that still goes back to shot placement, what ever gun you are comfortable with and can shoot well. Of course we will all say a XD is the best gun for a 9mm .....but only if your comfortable shooting it.

There should never be any debate on what caliber is best. Is it obvious that a bigger bullet is better for self defense? Sure. But you carry whatever you're comfortable with. If you think you can defend yourself with a .22, by all means, carry a 22.

The other reason teh .22 was preferred is the fact that it has enough energy to enter the body but not enough to exit so it richochet's around inside the body penetrating organ after organ and doing serious damage.

1. They didnt tell him that. They said that a 9mm will drop a man with a shot or two as well with shot PLACEMENT.

2. Who draws one someone to aim for their leg besides actors in action flicks? If I pull, Im goin center mass or headshot. Same with cops and swat from what I understand. If you shoot someone in the leg, even if they are about to kill you, you'll probably get sued. Not to mention if they ahve a gun, and you pop their leg, they are gonna keep shooting from the ground.

Not pickin on ya...just dont think you got the jist of the post.

I LOVE .22's. I wouldnt use them as SD probably. But Ive got a few rifles ranging from a 1904 semi auto to my bolt action scoped rifle. Also have a pump .22 magnum which actually provides a pretty nice punch for a .22.

I think another reason someone that could be considered a "hitman" likes the .22 are they are quiet. Quiet, generally smaller, and they usually make less mess. You guys ever watch the vids on youtube of the .22s with the compensators on them? They sound like someone lightly clapping.

I got no problem carrying my 9mm as a SD weapon. I know people say that you can shoot someone a few times with a 9 and they will still keep coming. I know it can happen, but come on. You get perforated with a few rounds of 9mm in your abdomen, I dont care who ya are, thats gonna hurt, and youre gonna go down. Leg shots, arm shots etc...yeah. I can see that not working.

O.P.... Its whatever you are comfy carrying. I use my pistol at the range ALOT. So 9mm cheapness was def on my list of reasons as well. I plan to some day pick up a .40 SC or maybe a 1911 carry in .45. Ide like the 1911, but thats alittle costly hehe.

thanks Ghettocruiser I was about to place that response myself. My goal in this post was to provoke peoples feelings about the 9mm as an all around gun, specifically for a college student who only does side jobs for pocket money, which is why i believe 9mm has cheaper ammo to practice with, and can also be carried as a self defense gun. idk where all this funky .22 talk came from, its wonderful hit men use them but .22's are for hunting chipmunks people..

People ask me sometimes why I'm carrying a shotgun in my pants leg. I just smile and explain that I'm not armed today, but thanks for noticing.

I have a XD45C, but am thinking about picking up a 9mm just so I can shoot more often. .45 ammo is getting out of hand on the price. I love the .22 just for the fun factor and my kids can shoot it.
