I use a Wilderness Tactical vertical mag pouch. It doesn't pock my side when I sit and is concealable with a regular polo style shirt. The retention is also great.

If I lived in petey1's neighborhood I would probably carry an extra mag, but since I don't, I don't.

I use a black nylon pouch with a closed belt loop and velcro flap. It looks like a leatherman or knife pouch, so I dont even bother trying to cover it up. The only thing that might give it away, is from the sides. You can see the shiny mag. But...I took care of that. I took 2 of my 8 mags, and painted a couple inches of the bottom of the mag flat black. I didnt watn paint flaking off up at the business end, so I only did the area that was needed.

Now it just looks like an everyday thing. I have two pouches...one is a double, and one is a single. I forget where I ordered them from, but they were cheap. Only a couple bucks.

I've used the nylon multi-tool pouch and it's great when you don't have a cover garment. A little slow to reload though as you have to open the pouch and then grab the mag. More difficult than it sounds when you're under stress but it goes unnoticed in public. The rest of the time I either use a thin kydex mag holder:

or a CD-Auto from Safariland:

I use a couple of methods one is a single mag IWB carrier from Raven The Malabar Front this actually came with loops for both inside and out side. In addition I carry one in my back pocket so I have one 13 round mag in the carrier and one 13 round mag in my back pocket. I have yet to find a 2 mag carrier that works for me. If I can wear a coat I use the Presentation Jacket from Duluth Trading which has 13 pocket inside Twill Presentation Jacket*-*Duluth Trading Company It actually has 2 pockets on each side that I assume are for pens but hold a magazine in each. So I carry 4 13 round 45ACP with this jacket.

it depends on where you live i suppose.. i live in the poconos, pa. we've had a major influx of gang members from ny and nj over the last 10 years, coming out here and preying on the citizens.. and gang members dont go solo, theyre too weak for something like that.. so if **** goes down and you gotta shoot one, well you better keep your ears up and your ass down as you run for your car because you can be garaunteed shooting a couple more on the way to safety is a 50/50 possibility..

I'm a cheapo, I carry my XD 40 in a blackhawk CQC holster and a spare mag in my back pocket along with my surefire 6P. That's my normal thing, but if I'm going to a bigger city or if its feasable, I carry two spares in an Uncle Mikes double mag carrier with a paddle back.
