Do a search on coloring lettering and I think you'll find several threads on this. Other things being used, besides crayons, are lacquer sticks and high temp enamel, as used on automobile engines, to name just a couple. None of them are that hard to do and some last much better than others.

Then I thought I would try some gun oil.. :wow: This really helped. I developed a technique. Oil the area and gently wipe, proceed to to scrub crayon into the indentions (make a mess). Then reoil the area and use a paper towel and gently scrub the area. This can also be accomplished with fingernail polish and acetone. There are many threads on this subject. I did not discover anything, just developed a technique that worked. The crayon should hold up pretty good even in a holster. It will require an occasional touch up, but remember I tried to scrub this stuff out and did a poor job of it. Heat should not effect it because the crayon is in a small indention and surface tension will hold it in. Now if you fire off a couple mags and decide to scrub it with a rag... |

I didn't even notice the koolaid spot till you mentioned it. I went back and looked at it. I was looking at the pistol. It looks good. Still debating on whether to do mine or not. It's a commemorative pistol from my battalion.

Get crazy shooting, and it will melt out..LOL
Had it happen. I played with it for a bit, and the BEST looking one I ever had done, was my wife did one with gold flake. I liked it, but once it started to wear, I just left them black.. And BTW to the OP, ANYTHING looks better than a Glock... |
