Re-coating slide
Since my wonderfully stock XD will no longer be stock in a week or so i figured why not go all out. I really wanted a Bi-Tone XD, but i was stupid and took what was on the shelf.
Is there anywhere that i can buy a stainless XD slide, or can someone recomend a place i can send it with a fast turn around time? The XD is a .45 Service model. |

Darn, I just noticed Tripp is no longer doing hard chrome. What is that about? I loved mine.

We use a company called TechPlate in So Calif. They do excellent work, have a website, and you can contact them directly.

Check with Canyon Creek, Canyon Creek Custom - Firearms for the Sportsman. Not sure if they can chrome your slide but they do have some fantastic finishes from KGCoatings, KG Metal Coatings and Lubricants, that are excellent. I think Robar is now doing XD work and Robbie practically rewrote the book on re-finishing guns. Unfortunately I forget what their website is.
Might also check out these guys, DuraCoat Firearm Finishes Direct. The Duracoat system they have is designed to be used by the gun owner or they can do it if you want. |
