Get what you like..... It is a good idea to have a 9 due to the cost of shooting. I have a 9sc and love it.... I also have a 45tac that I am getting pretty good with....but the 9sc is my first love!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely check out the 9sc; especially if you are going to ccw. It has none of the "punchiness" of the .40sc.

I guess what I am sayin is for those of you who own both. Is there any noticeable difference between the two. Not sure if I would put this on my permit yet. Currently on my permit I have the XDSC .40, Kimber Ultra Raptor II, and my STAR Firestar .40 wich is also a SC.

I love my XD 40 SC and don't have any problem with it being " PUNCHY " I just keep shooting it and get better with it each time, I love my XD 45 Compact as well and have no problem with it either. Personaly I think people think way to much about recoil or punchiness just shoot the darn gun and get to know it and you will get better with it. It is a pistol that shoots bullets not a BB gun. Forget what everybody else thinks if it works for you get it, shoot it, and take care of it and it will take care of you.

Well said. At first, I, too, though my 40SC was "punchy". I now have 7-800 rounds through it and don't find it punchy at all. I think it is a sweet shooter.

The the full size. I have the sc and there don't seem to be that many available parts for the sc (like guide rods, recoil springs, drop in barrels) you may want to change it up in the future.
