A little help for a new member please...
Just picked up my new XD-9 sevice. Maybe you can help me with something. I'm a bit curious how old my gun is. The gunstore owner swore he had only had it a few days but the dust on the box said otherwise. My only concern is if I have the new extractor or not? My XD is not too new because it only has one notch on the rail. The fired case package is dated 4-7-2003. But it has two 15rd mags. Serial # is 983*** if thats any help. Anyone have any idea which extractor I have? Thanks for the help and great forum gentlemen!

None of the old extractors made there way into the xd`s, In fact in all of the SA literature and advertising they and others state that they redisgned some parts including the extractor. This is not entirely true becuase I have worked on sever Gen 3 hs2000`s allready with the new style extractor.

Seemed a bit odd to me that the spent case was dated 4-7-2003 but yet I had 15rd mags. Is it possible that it was in Springfields inventory, leftover from 2003 and they went back and changed the mags out before shipping to dealers?
Haven't been able to shoot it yet, tomorrow looks like the day! Currently its loaded with Corbon powRball. Got a couple of WWB 115gr fmg value packs to fire off tomorrow. I'll function test a couple boxes of the powRball as well. A good cleaning & lube with FP-10, polished the feedramp with a little fitz and dremel, hopefully tomorrow all will go well. Night sights & a case of Ranger 127+p+ are next on the list. Nice to know I've got the good extractor. Hopefully this XD will treat me a litte better than the early XD-40 that I used to own. It had feed issues, and the the mag kept hitting the ejector. Got my fingers crossed that this one will be a keeper!!! |

I have a XD-9MM Tactical with a Casing Round Dated 2-11-2003. But mine came with 2-10 round mags. because i got it before the ban was lifted. ( Took care of that issue soon there after..
