I use a http://aacfi.com/products/secureit.shtml secure-it safe. It has a cable to loop around a seat post or you can screw it to something. I would advise against the trunk as a mounting location since somebody may see what you are doing.

I like the DAC Sportsafe. You can bolt down the detachable mounting plate in you floorboard or trunk. The mounting plate lets you lock the safe down when you want it to be stationary or the safe can become mobile if you need it too. I have it mounting the center floor of my F-250. This safe worked well for me, because I wanted one I could access quickly in an emergency, need to mount in a small space, and like the fact I could take it out easily if I wanted to. They are avaialbe from many places over the internet. I bought mine from Elite Tacticle Sources. Try this link and click on the DAC SportSafe http://www.elitetacticalsources.com/..._Gun_Safes.htm

I want something that I can secure under the front passenger seat of my car. I like the cable idea of the Secure-It.
I spoke with a salesman at the Life Jacket booth at the annual NRA show. He suggested getting a nylon coated steel cable and pad lock. Loop it around the seat post. Open the Life Jacket, putting the cable in, then your handgun. This secures your handgun and shove it under the seat so no one sees it.

i am 14 and when i leave my house and my parents i will keep my dads xd tac with me in the dorm, university, bar, and anywhere i can coceal it. If i get killed because i didnt want to be arrested of fined because of gun laws then i was killed for no reason.
point__no amount of fines and confiscation will tell me to give up my life or protecting it. right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

I use an ArmLoc II Magnum from Frazen. Available from Ajax Gungrips for about $90. It comes with mounting hardware so you can mount it on a truck or bedframe and the best part is the gun case detaches from the mount if you so desire and want to carry it with you. It coems with dual locks, one combination and one hi-security key type. There is also a little red light to aid uncloking it in the dark. Construction is molded Kevlar with foam padding. From what the manufacturere claims this item is used by several federal agencies to secure weapons when agents enter a no-weapon area/building.
