Got pulled over today with my gun in the car.

Here in IL there is no CC, but you can legally have loaded mags and gun in the same "case". If you have a handgun in your car you cannot drive within the city limits of Chicago even if just passing through.The mayor is a complete dummy. Why is it that a city where it is illegal to even own a handgun is one of the easiest places in America to get shot? I heard DC also has similar handgun laws and also suffers terrible gun violence stats too. I would say it is safe to say that the majority of these guns used in crimes are "aquired" by less than legal means. At least I can get a non-resident CCW permit from PA that is good in all the neghboring states minus WI.

Family trip to Redding, Kankekee(sp) and Wilmington, Ill 2 months ago to visit wifes family. Got in trouble for shooting on a 1400 acre farm cause I am Virginia boy and didn't have a FIOD card. But I asked if I could get a non residant card and was told NO. Had to surrender my pistol and spent 4hrs in the cop shop for a background check. Had to retrieve the pistol on my way back to Va, minus the ammo of course. He,he, so on the way out to my car I put a sticker of the Stars and Bars on the back glass of a copcar.......figured it would fit right in since every corner had a beer joint with Red White and Blue and Pabst Blue Ribbon neon signs.........and they call us Rednecks.....

That is really rediculous einheit. You'd think you where a foreigner from some distant country the way they treated you, rather than an american citizen. Makes me feel violated just reading about it .

Oh trust me it pissed me off real bad, but what ya gonna do?? I even lodged a formal complaint with the Ill State police and county seat. But all I got was "We do things different around here! Sorry for the "hassle", but your not in Va ."

I thiught thata they would be "cool" there since Joliet is right down the street and the Blues Bros. was a kick ass movie, nope, just a bunch of sexually repressed, anal retentive, left wing liberal yanks.....
