your favorite cleaning product

what are peoples favorite cleaning products for their XD's, and what is your cleaning procedure? I want to make sure I am treating my XD with all the love and respect it deserves.

MPro-7 for cleaning and Weapon Shield for light lubing, Mil-comm TW25-B grease on the slide rails. I use Brass jag and regular type bore brushes. I got some plastic dental type probes for getting crud out of tuff spots.

I clean all with Hoppe's No. 9 and cotton swabs. I use a brass brush to scrub the bore. If I have shot about 1000 rounds of full metal jacket, then I'll use a little copper solvent down the barrel to dissolve any copper. After the brush, I'll use a bore snake with hoppes down the barrel to make things shine. I then wipe everything dry with cotton swabs. Then I lube the slide rails so that things move smoothly. After reassembly, i wipe everything down dry and then wipe everything down with a silicon clothe before putting her away.

I love a 50%/50% mix of Butches Bore cleaning solvent mixed with Kroil Penetrating Oil.
Cleans and oils in one shot...actually smells good as well.

Usually for a pistol I'll use a nylon brush since I don't shoot lead in them. Remember to always clean from the chamber end of your barrel, NOT the muzzle end.

1. Patch of 50/50 mix above
2. Brush with the bronze brush
3. Run a clean patch.

If the clean patch comes out dirt, just repeat the above steps until it comes out clean.

I usually do a complete disassembly, but a field strip is fine. use a toothbrush or a nylon gun brush for the slide, etc... The 50/50 mix above works just as well for the rest of the handgun.

Remember, DO NOT over oil your weapon. There should be a light film on contact parts (metal to metal), and nothing more. It's not like a car engine where it has to be immersed in oil.
I use a hypodermic needle with Militec-1 or Kroil to apply the oil in hard to reach spots. otherwise, just a q-tip with oil on it and lightly swipe it across the contact area's. Remember to run a patch of oil down the barrel, but then run a clean and dry patch back down it again to remove the excess oil.
Reassemble your pistol, a quick wipe down with a silicone gun cloth on the slide and you're ready for the next time

Then what do you shoot through it?

Hoppe's #9, Rem oil in a spray can and as a liquid in a bottle. I use an old t-shirt as a rag, a toothbrush, and a some patches. That's it I think...
