single stack XD
I'd love to see one with 'Officer' size dimensions.
The Glock 36 is the right size, but the wrong grip shape. It needs to be .45, long enough for all three fingers to get on the grip, more narrow than the standard gun, and have a carry bevel on all metal and slide. I never have understood why Glock chose to put the extended magazine on the 36 instead of just making the frame long enough to begin with. I'D BUY ONE! MAYBE TWO! |

I don't see one happening for a while...the reason: the Kahr PM45 is hardly thinner and shorter than the XD45 compact and I get a full 10+1 rounds versus the Kahr's 5+1...

I'd like to see one in .45.
The reason? I love my new single stack Sig P6 (225), but pretty much can't stand other double stack Sig's. The other reason, I love my XD, but I'm still a 1911 fan at heart

Don't really see the market for a XD single-stack .45. Such a design would basically appeal to 1911 fans and Springfield already has an excellent line of 1911's. If you want a 1911 style compact .45 from Springfield they have the EMP.
Just don't see enough reason to warrant the developmental cost.
