And now the wait begins...

Last night I completed my CCW class. I shot one of the best groups that I have ever shot. Of course, I had to delay going to work this morning so that I could go to the court house and apply for my CCW. Unfortunately, I should be out to see when my permit actually comes in. Guess I will have to wait a little longer to use it. I can't wait though.

so, what are you planning on carrying concealed?

do you already own it or are you in the process of acquiring it?

I have a XD 40 Service for now. I will see how that works and go from there.

congrats, i did my class at the beginning of the month, have been waiting 5 days for my permit so far, and i managed to put a 40SC in lay-a-way yesterday, so now its a race if i can get it out of layaway before i get my permit! i have a 40 service bi-tone, and im getting a little flak from people for buy its little brother too, but i dont really care. the grip seems hard for me to hide in lighter clothes, or while bending, i dont want to chop it, so i figured i would just spend another $470 on a whole new gun

Lol, I have the XD 40 service also and want either the sc 9 or 40. All my friends are giving me flak, lol. They think I should get the CW 9 or PM 9 from Kahr....but I want the same trigger. I figure when I go shooting I will get twice the practice, lol. I sent my application in Jan 28... and they still have not given my pin # to check my status. Guess it is going to be a while.

What state is that? Seems like a long time to be waiting. In VA they have to get back to you, approved or not, within 45 days. From what I hear it doesn't usually take anywhere near that.

My money's on you! It's been a couple of months here in Utah, and still no word on when they're gonna bother to send it out. The law says 60 days, but who the hell do these guys answer to? Nobody! They can do it whenever they damn well please. Government efficiency being what it is, I'm gonna guess Michigan's not gonna be too much quicker.

I'm in the same boat....though my friendly neighborhood Sheriff's Dept. has been known to drag their feet. I'm currently on day 27 of 45.
