Oregon Bikers can carry Openly in holsters.

Or so the point is argued. No "In" Cars, but yes to bikes, is that right?

"Firearms carried openly in belt holsters are not considered to be
concealed."

but then again. "It is unlawful to carry concealed upon the person or concealed
about one’s person in a vehicle any firearm unless one has a license to
carry a concealed weapon."

I guess open carry is open carry right? I ask because I am inclined to carry that way! I dont have a CHL btw-

Oregon Bike Carry

I believe that it is illegal to carry on ATV's in Oregon. Don't recall where I read it tho.

I think you can open carry in all cities of Oregon EXCEPT Portland, Beaverton, Tigard, Oregon City, Salem, and Independence. If you have a CHL, then you can open carry in these cities as well.

Does a firearm carried in a belt holster covered with a shirt qualify as being open?

No. It has be be carried "openly in a belt holster". The shirt covering it would conceal the gun, and it would therefore NOT be openly carried.

I guess my question here is with Oregon being a Shall Issue state why dont you have a Oregon CHL?? A little cost and a very short wait and you don't have to worry about it at all.

i LOVE idaho laws! i do have my CCW now but when i didnt i was able to drive around with my gun on the seat next to me or on the dash it could be loaded and just had to me in plain view. and you can also legally conceal a loaded rifle or a shotgun in your car without a CCW and could legally conceal a loaded handgun without a CCW if you are outside of city limits.

but it does seem like its ok to open carry on a bike.
