Backorder???

Yeap... thats right.
I went to my local hole in the wall gun shop and checked to see what price they had for the 9mm SC since they had a 4in 40 for $530. He quoted me $488 plus shipping. I said ok... I'll go pick up the money I put on the 9mm SC I already put on lay away at Gander Mountain. He called SA on speaker phone and the woman that answered the phone said she'd be glad to assist him but ALL models of the XD's are currently on backorder. I gasp and said are you kidding me loud enough that she heard me and she chuckled and said no sir, I'm not kidding you. Is the demand really that large for this gun??

I am not surprised. I work part time at Brighton Arms and we have four XD in 45 but we had none in 9mil. Then yesterday I came out of the shop into the gunroom and there one was. I put it in layaway. We also have a long waiting list for the Judge from Taurus

The XD9SC is a really top notch carry pistol. The demand must be high.
  • It doesn't even have to grow on you. For me it was a great feeling and pointing carry pistol from day one.
  • It's my primary carry gun and I feel really safe and sound with it in my pants.
  • It's easy to conceal completely without buying a new wardrobe or changing your style in almost all cases.
  • It's super accurate for a 3" barrel and comfortable to shoot. I can keep 90% of my rounds inside 6" at 7-10 yards without trying real hard.
  • The reliability is as good as any pistol gets. It eats everything I've fed it for hundreds of rounds now.
All these elements add up to a world class conceal carry pistol IMHO. I prefer shooting the XD9SC more than any other XD model I have owned or fired. Even at the range.

this makes me very happy to hear since I'm about $100 from picking mine up. Then where to get money for my ccw... and ammo.

That is a good option. Check out "supohunter" on GunBroker. I have purchase two XDs from him. I just purchased by Bi-Tone SC 9 this month. I was really surprised at how good the SC feels (with the Pierce extension).

If you like OD green. This guy is awesome, I just bought his last black 9SC.

GunBroker.com guns: Springfield XD9 Sub-Compact OD Green $399 (item: 94705320 ends: Mar-19-08 10:13:24 AM)

BTW if you like tacticals, he has 2 .40s for $429. One in OD and one in DE.

Thanks guys for the advice on where to buy my gun BUT I already have a gun on lay away and nearly paid for. I am however looking for the 9mm acc mag kits or somewhere to get the 16 rnd mags for around $30.

Good luck finding the high capacity 9mm kits for a decent price, they seem to be pretty dried up. Be sure and let us know if you do if you do find 'em. I would be interested in another.
