Sticky Magazines...not what you're thinking
Get your minds out of the gutter...I have an older 9 XDSC and the mags that I bought when I bought the gun easily drop. But every magazine that I have recently bought gets stuck and requires me to pull it the rest of the way. It's a real PITA when you're shooting a match.
Am I the only one? If not, any advice to eliminate the problem? It just seems like either the newer XDs are slightly different in the mag well or toleranced differently OR the magazines are not being made the same as they once were. |

i had a problem much like this while shooting a older Sig.
Its kinda messy, but works. First, use solvent in your pistols handgrip. Do the same with the outside of your magazine. The messy way would be to lightly coat the mag and well with gun oil. The pretty smelling way i have used (and works) is Pledge. Try to find the "no wax" formula. It works wonders. |

JD, I have had the same with new mags on my 9 Service. Once they have been to the range a few times and cycled (fired), they then start to drop free fine. I have no idea what it is though.

Blue Wonder Armadillo
It's kinda like ski wax for you gun... Also, check your mags and see it the top/rear of the mag is bent backwards at all. If it is, a little squeeze with a pair of needle-nose pliers will straighten 'em out.

My .45 was doing the same thing. It's been kind of a common problem for people lately. Look at the top of the magazine and see if the back edge has bulged out. This seems to be the usual problem. If it is push it back flat on a table or tap it back with something. Should fix it(unless it does it again). Here is another thread that covered this.
problem with mags? |
