Slidelock Triggers?

Hey guys, I was just reading about this thing called a Slidelock trigger for the glocks that is something like a manual trigger lock. Is there anything like that for XD triggers (the XD and Glock triggers externally look similar so it seemed logical to me that they would make them for springfield as well). Anyone know?

Oh yeah, the reason I'm asking is because I ( for some reason ) have this paranoid fear of accidentally shooting myself in a public area. Maybe I'm just weird lol

Don't depend on another safety device, the XD has plenty of them. You primary safety device is your brain. Keep your finger off of the trigger until you have a target you are willing to destroy and are ready to go bang. But, to answer your question, I have not seen them for the XD yet, but it does appear that a similar design could be possible.

Springfield Armory already offers a manual thumb saftey (as an option) on the XD45 service, and may add it as an option to the rest of the XD line. Thumb safeties work much better than the slidelock system and do not add any cost to the gun (SA is selling the XD45 with the safety for the same price as the XD45 without it).

But nothing can overcomes poor gun handing or replace responsible gun handling...

Why/How would you shoot yourself in a public area? And why is that any scarier than shooting yourself in private? Personally I don't want to be shot at all. Concealed means *concealed* you shouldn't be fiddling with it in public anyways. It should sit nice and snugly in it's holster until you've got something you need to shoot.

(Fear of shooting yourself is a good thing, it makes you aware and more safety conscious, if you honestly thought you could never hurt yourself with a gun I'd be more worried)

I had a reoccurring dream a few years ago about having a gun and it accidentally going off and killing someone that was just standing near me (which then led to everyone around me attacking me and calling me a murderer). Sounds weird, and it is lol. I guess weird things like that just stick sometimes?

I always forget its going to have a holster to protect the trigger from clothes and such haha for the longest time before I actually started reading about guns, I thought people just stuck cc guns in top of their pants or something lol.

my ccw noobness (I dont even have my XD yet so its more like pre-noobness) is showing...
