I was told by the gun store that the XD may not be suitable for +P+ ammo becausr of its polymer frame.
The store sell the +P+ for cheaper price than the +P, so I'm not sure if that was an honest advise or just to make me buy the more expensive ammo. Also, whats the worse that could happen if all the ammo I fire is +P+? Any thoughts... |

well i would think that any factory ammo would be ok. now if you shot +p+ all the time your gun would wear out faster. +p+ ammo doesnt have any max pressure limit so you cant know how much pressure there is going to me but if its factory american ammo from a major manufacturer it should be ok. but out of a sub compact i would imagine that the recoil would be pretty harsh

It could "probably" handle a few here and there but SA would probably say don't do it. I wouldn't be shooting it through mine all the time personally.
One comment made to me at a gun store still rings in my ear. Based on a similar question I asked the reply was if you feel the need to use +P+ in 9mm you should just move up to .40 or .45 . . . Do you feel standard loads or +P loads are too weak?

SA will not warrant your weapon for any ammunition that does not meet SAAMI standards and +p+ does not meet the standards.

I'm not sure what is the manufacturer, but it says on the box "law enforcement grade". The only reason I'm asking is because its really cheaper than the +P that I always use and I dont want to change caliber.
