I recently found a nice piece done by Canyon Creek while surfing the web, and it makes me wonder how much custom stuff CAN be done to our XD's, and where the best XD custom shops are.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! I'm thinking of buying a couple more XD's just to have some custom stuff done (both beauty and performance mods).

While I'm sure it's in Ed's list, I'll put in a plug for Scott at Springer Precision.
Welcome to Springer Precision
He's done all my work and I won't use anyone else any more.
He's going to be building me another XD .45 in the next few weeks.
It'll be finished in the same colors as this one here:

It will also have the snakeskin grip treatment like this one:

It'll have Dawson Fiber-optic sights, Springer carry/Combat trigger, extended mag release, IonBond coating on the mags, Factory clean-up work and of course, we'll polish the barrel and feedramp.
That's well more than what's "needed"

to have a great running XD.
