Great piece! Now go shoot a P30 before you lose too much trade value on that P2000sk

Congratulations on a purchase of a new weapon. Shoot, clean, and repeat.

I used to believe the placement and motion of the magazine release a bit odd. Then I got a Walther P22, which has a similar style, and I found it quite easy to work and not bad at all.

I bought a P22 last year as it was about the only pistol my daughter could actually hold in her tiny hands. Funny thing is that it was even comfortable to me with my big mits. Like you mentioned, the P22 had already made me familiar with that type of mag release so it didn't turn me off to the HK. I wish it extended just a tad more but I'll adjust my technique a bit and I'll be good to go.

Can you tell I have a thing for German firearms in general?

Looks good freak. I hope you still stick around even though you are xdless. Many here are and it is a great somewhat unbiased place to talk guns.
