ordered my first XD
I've been shooting for about 18 months now (I've got a Browning Buckmark Bullseye URX with 8,000 rounds through it) and I've recently been doing some light IPSC style shooting with a local group.
I'd been shooting my fathers M&P .40 for the last for months for these matches, but yesterday I stopped in at the range and ordered a 9mm XD Service. I should have it in Tuesday. Looking forward to sending some rounds down range -- I'll have a week to get used to it before I try it in a friendly competition. |

Well then, Welcome to the world of the XD. I'm confident you'll really enjoy the way it shoots. Let us know.

just for reference -- I shot a lot of stuff en route to deciding on an XD...
- XD (9mm - SC, Service and .40 S&W) - M&P (9mm and .40 S&W) - Beretta PX4 - Beretta 92 - Sig 228 / 229 / 226 / 220 - HK USPc - Kimber / Para 1911's - Browning Hi-Power and a few others... The XD just seems like a nice package and I know it's super reliable. Should be fun ! |

Wow, you did try quite a few options. It is nice to know, rather than wonder what the best pick is. You will be really happy with your XD! Welcome to the boards...

You will enjoy the XD. I really like the grip angle and accuracy of my XD9. I have yet to shoot my XD45, and I'm itching to get an XD40..
