UPDATE - Trigger Bar trigger pin Loose - SA says nothing wrong !!

UPDATE and dissapointed in SA - Well, after 5 a five week wait for my XD to get a new trigger bar I talked to Megan today and she said they" found nothing wrong, why did I send it in?" I found the trigger bar pin to be loose in the bar. I even took it apart again to verify that it In Fact wobbles in the bar. This is NORMAL ?? It defies engineering logic if it is. Did they even dis assemble the pistol I wonder? She saidI stated my problem/concern was clearly in my return letter. They are going to take a second look at it Wed and call me. I am bummed AND frustrated.

Am I all wet on this issue ?

Harold Hovey

Due to winter boredom I Completely de/reassembled my 40Tac for the first time. Also, soon I will be ordering a PowderRiver saftey lever kit and wanted the gunsmithing experience..... I noticed the trigger bar pin for the trigger was loose .... is this normal ? It would not spin but it would wiggle. Is future failure likely ? I appreciate your input. Harold H.

Sounds like my Dad when he used to yell at me when I tore my Yamaha CT175 apart ...... I feel a Complete tear down is important from time to time be a carry piece or a serious competition piece. I hope someone will throw me a bone. HH

No thats not normal, I would either buy a new trigger bar or contact SA about it. You know Murphy's law, if its going to fail, it will be when you need it most.

UPdate from Springfield

Update – Got a quick response back from Dawn @ Springfield and was very impressed with that. The trigger bar is on the Do Not Sell list and I would need to send it in for replacement and that bums me out as I HATE sending my guns in.

Question:
Does anyone offer a stock configured trigger bar ? I want to go the PowderRiver safety bar/set screw route and this requires a stock bar and sear.

Any suggestions ?

HH

Not that I am aware of. The Powder River Safety Lever requires a OEM Sear but I'm not sure about the Trigger Bar, you basically remove material to adjust the trigger reset but think the trigger pretravel is changed by the Springer Sear. I would give them a call and see.

I don't know what is better than perfect but, the difference the Powder River Safety Lever makes is awesome. If you love you XD (HS2000) now wait until you install the Safety Lever.

The Springer custom trigger bar will work with the Powder River Safety Lever. You'll lose some control since you can't put back metal that you've removed with the Springer trigger bar but it will work.

I appreciate your comments. I got the same reply via email from PowderRiver. (His customer support is fantastic. He takes the time to communicate promptly.) Daniel did tell me he HAS seen the trigger pin work loose on other stock trigger bars.

I guess I will send it back to Sprinfield seeing how I would have to fit the Springer trigger bar and I do NOT know what is involved. I definately want to go with the PowderRiver safety lever kit.

I am bummed ... I HATE sending my guns in .....Dang !
