Finally!

I bought my XD40 last Saturday and was finally able to make it to the range today. Since this is the first gun I have owned I was really excited to try it out. I couldn't have been happier. I can't wait to get back out there and shoot again. Hopefully I can find time this week.

Welcome! I was the same way when I purchased my first XD (.40 4" Service Model) I've purchased 2 more since then, and it often takes everything I have not to buy another.

I got the 4". That was what they had at the MCX. They were the only ones I could find with a bi-tone as well.

It took all I could do to convince my wife to let me get the first one let alone another. She was worried that the kids would get to it. Finally got her to realize that guns aren't the devil. She gave in and saw the light, however.

Congrats man I just bought the same model- my first personal purchase as well... I was going to attempt to goto the range with it today for the first time but being pounded by 20 inches of snow is a little rough and my car has been stuck in the snowdrift since. I could probably use the snow to make my own shooting range....
