XD40SC conversion to 357Sig
Has anyone done this with a sub compact? If so how do you like it? I'm looking at the EFK conversion and would like some more info before springing for a new barrel.

To the best of my knowledge, no one makes a subcompact .357 barrel.

Here's one right here.
https://www.efkfiredragon.com/prodde...od=XDSUB357SBC Considering that a Sig .357 is just a necked down .40 there should be no issues at all. Now with that being said have you priced .357 Sig ammo lately????? YIKES!! |

Well Ill be danged! People asked for one of these for a long time and thats the first I saw one. Good fine, now I wonder if the .40 would be the better choice due to ammo cost and in the 3", I dont know that there will be enough increase in velocity to make the .357 perform the way it does in the 4-5 inch barrels.
Soemthing to definately think about though.

I'm with you on the performance. Generaly if you are using a SC you're doing personal work at very close range... and now the added velocity of the .357 vs. the bigger hole of the .40 debate can now start.

I belive most of the experts say that most CCW encounters will happen within 21 feet.

I think I would rather have a XD-9SC than an XD-357SC. I do not believe that in a short barrel like the SubCompact that the 357Sig has that much velocity than 9mm +P loaded with the same bullet. With a barrel that short you can only burn so much powder before the bullet leaves the barrel. The rest just burns out there as muzzle flash. The 357Sig is a great cartridge but its advantage start to fad over 9mm +P as the barrel gets shorter.
