BUT, if you have a .40 or .45 with less rounds in the mag, you will have to finish the remaining bad guys by throwing rocks at them or run away. OR, you would have to ask a pair of them to line up one behind the other, relying on the tremendous penetration powah of the .45 ACP. |

I thought my 40SC had substantial recoil. Guess I'm just not a man. Sold it, bought a 9SC, very accurate, very pleasant to shoot, and so much more concealable than the Service. I don't have anything against 40s, just got tired of buying 3 kinds of ammo. And a bigger caliber doesn't make a better gun, or make it more effective. It's still about shot placement. Rule #1 of a gunfight - have a gun. Any gun.

Because that's what you're looking at every time you touch and cuddle your XD's frame during late hours when you feel lonely.

The ballistics threads always puzzle me, especially speaking about stopping power, kevlar etc, for home defense and I know this will cause alot of speculation, are we talking professionals wearing cermics mixed with kevlar? if so wow I wanna see what's in your house LOL. Ive worked with law enforcement a few times and they're stories dont correlate to these thoughts here or on most boards about "stopping" power. Unless your shooting Jason or someone hyped up on PCP (from the 80's) I really honestly think getting shot stops about 99% of the perps, not too many people can take a 9mm and just keep comin like in the movies, especially minus the kevlar. If someones breakin into my home with that kind of suit up and probably well armed I guess Im in for a real shoot out, and yeah I do own the XD 45 Tac, but I honestly don't think that's whats coming through to get my ity bitty things I have here. Of course I know what the general rule is always better to be safe .........then run over by Jason

I was concerned about recoil when I bought my XD40-SC but it is not bad at all. I don't even think about it when shooting at the range with standard and self defense loads.

I love 45 cant go without it i like the light rounds like corbon 165 grainers to going really fast . im not a 40 fan though if i were going to go 40 id just go 9mm with 124grain ranger SXTs that way i got more of em that i would with a 40 mag wise just my 2 sence though and 9mm is way cheaper to practice with
If you stay with your just check out COMP-tac.com for there M-tac holster i canceal a glock 30 and a glock 21 in there fine with a dark t shirt and im a skinny guy |

I carry my .45 Tac a lot, it can stick out some times, most don't notice, and they dont notice the 2nd mag in the back pocket either.
13+1+13= 27-230 grain JHP nuffsaid Oh it helps being 6-5 280 |

I carry my 45 Service everyday that I'm not at work.. While the extra grip length can be a bit of a challenge with my body mass I can comfortably conceal it using a C-Tac at about 2:30.. I also just picked up that OWB and mag holder from LeMat and think I will have to change my clothing selection a little because I love that holster from the minute I tried it on.
