I got a decent deal.
Stopped at the local Pawn shop today, never a good idea actually
 , they had a XD9 4" sitting there. $300. Looks perfect. Fired date on the empty brass is 4-3-06 so it may not be a Melonite finish. But $300 is not a bad deal.

If it does have the old finish call SA and see if they will refinish it for free.

I have the gun. And if I refinish it I may go with an aftermarket finish. NP3 or something like that.
I will call SA today and find out what finish it has.

well they will refinish the gun but i believe you have to pay shipping. .

Nice deal. I'd leave it the way it is. Now you have a beater gun. One that you can use and abuse and not feel bad. Like your own mini-torture test.
