Question Trigger pull method

I was watching some pro's firing pistols on TV and placed the TV into slo mo mode. On one guy I could see the trigger finger come completley off the trigger prior to next pull. On another his finger never left the trigger between pulls.

Which is best or does it make a difference ?

Thanks.

Depends on what you're doing...

Targets and matches, you should just come off far enough to reset the sear. IMO

Shooting for your life, you will probably be hammering on the trigger as hard and as fast as you can while screaming like a little girl anyway, so who cares

Angry

Me scream like a girl. Ha never happen, been shot at many, many times.
The bad guys shot in VN did scream and some didn't. Guess they didn't have time to. Maybe you scream like a little girl.

I was asking the question as to being at the range and trying to get good groups. The guys on TV definitely were not shooting at the BG's. Come on, read the question. I wanted a serious answer, not some WA comment.
I am always serious and focused , if your not your dead.

Talk about situational awareness

I'll be shrieking like a rabid ferret. Tomayto, tomahto.

And I'm pretty sure my glorious, smooth trigger technique will turn into mad hammering when my life's really on the line.

In J. Christopher Amberger's book The Secret History of the Sword, he explains how the technique taught by sword masters wasn't always the technique practice in actual duels. There's a steep disparity between their practice and their actual fights.

Photographic evidence from 20th century duels indicate that the most disciplined swordsmen would fall into sloppy technique when the stress of life-or-death situations robs them of their finer motor skills.

I would imagine as much to be true for firearm discipline.

Yep. And that's why we practice, practice, practice. That way, in the heat of battle, those with great form will deteriorate to good form, those with good form will deteriorate to bad form, and those with bad form will be dead.
