striker retainer pin

I just got a new xd-40sc bi-tone. Love the gun and put about 200 rds thru it today w/o a problem and is very acurate.
I noticed that the striker retainer pin on top of the slide is sticking out a little bit, about 2mm. I knocked it back in and after a couple of slide cycles, it goes right back to where it was, no more than before. Is this normal or should I get it looked at?

Thanks,
Bill

The pin size is M3x16 or 3mm diameter and 16mm long. Sometimes you can find them at a hardware store as a metric "split pin" or "roll pin", some have found them at auto parts stores.
My post-whoredom is if you post "WSU Cougs Rule" and then send me your address I will send you five of them. That's my price and I am sticking to it. Go Cougs!

Do I punch out the pin from below the slide? When it's out, does anything fall apart?
I'm just going to go buy some roll pins if that all they are.

Thanks,
Bill

Punch it out, crimp the bottom end, and punch back in. Shouldn't come out anymore.

I punched it out. The pin is cone shaped(slimmer at the bottom). I spread it out a little and punched it back in. So far it seems like it's staying. At least this is a simple procedure.
Thanks for all the support.
