next gun

i love my gen 1 HS2k 9mm. but im looking to upgrade to a 40 or 45 cal.
i've shot
MP40, XD40, FN57, numerous glocks, and Kimber 1911 .45.
now, as much as i LOVE the Kiber and FN, i cant afford either(got, i love that Kimber...) plus i dont think they would be able to hanlde the abuse i put my HS through. the glocks could hanlde the abuse, but i dont like the way they feel.
which leaves me with the MP and XD.
i love my HS. it never leaves my side when im out playin in the woods and camping(in fla you can have your sidearm on you while camping or hunting, so long as the area you are at allows it, even without a CCW)

my HS was on me in all those pictures, even while riding the fourwheeler in the mudhole
so i need something that can stand up to the abuse i put it through.
will the M&P40 be able to hanlde the abuse as well as the XD? i can pick up a used MP for a reasonable price. not so much and XD. i dont mind spending more if it cant.

so, fellow gun experts, what is your take? MP or XD for a new .40 toy for me?

Why even consider something else when the HS has proven itself to be reliable under all of those conditions? If I were you I would spend the cash on the XD and not look back.

Read this: SPRINGFIELD ARMORY

I'm nearly 2,000 rounds through my XD40 and haven't had a single problem with it.

I assumed you had already seen that There are plenty of people who have M&P's who love them, but they don't have the track record of the XD's yet.

IT IS AWESOME!

I've never fired an M&P so I can't tell you anything about it.

The XD will stand up to that abuse for sure. I would personally be worried about putting an M&P through those conditions. I am not saying it won't take it, but it also hasn't had the time to prove itself like the HS 2k design has.
