Help with polishing a feedramp

Can you give us some info on how to polish the feedramp? i have an XD9 and an XD.40 tactical and have had some problems with them. The new round gets hung up half way in to the chamber. I have tried several mags to no avail. they are almost new and i have 200 rnds through each of them. i went to a stonger spring on the .40 and it helped but i still have the problem but not nearly as often. Any help anyone could give on polishing a feedramp would be great!! Pics would be great as well. i love this forum as so many of you really do know what you are talking about.

Sorry no pics handy but I followed these steps with success:

Quote from Don:

Polishing the feed ramp is not a difficult or dangerous thing to do. I used 400 grit wrapped around a shell casing and just took off the roughness. Use it wet so that the grit does not load up, then follow up with 600 grit. You are not changing any shape, just making it smooth.

This is from this post:

One other thing I read else where was to make sure to only sand up & down the length of the ramp NOT side to side.
