Another new XD owner

Just got home with my new XD9 Tactical. Paid $449 at the Sportsmans Warehouse here in Albuquerque after spending all day driving from shop to shop. I saw XD service models for as high as $529. I could have bought online but by the time I paid S&H and a FFL fee I figured I might as well get it today and support a local establishment.

This is my first Springfield (and first 9mm). Sold my G36 last year. Other handguns I have are the Ruger SP-101 .357, Ruger Mark I, and a S&W Model 36.

I wanted the XD for range work and maybe IDPA. Bad part is that I won't be able to get to the range for about two weeks.

Anyway, I look forward to participating more on this forum!

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good memories, and lots that are still foggy from time spent in Albuquerque.

Funny how places charge different for the same gun, when I was looking for a XD9 service a few weeks ago I saw them as high as $569 but a mile down the road they were $489 so guess what, I bought the one for $489!!! Like yourself I could have bought one online for $420 or so but by the time you factor in shipping and the FFL dealer fee it's not much cheaper, plus buying local keeps the money local as well.

ChessyD, did you buy it at a Bass Pro Sportsman Warehouse? Just curious because the Sportsman Warehouse in Memphis only carries some cap-and-ball pistols, some rimfire pistols and hunting handguns. They don't currently carry non-hunting handguns.

No, it's not a "Bass Pro Shops". The name of the store is just "Sportman's Warehouse". It's just like a Bass Pro Shop in that they carry similar items though. Not sure if they're affiliated or not. This store had a fairly large selection of handguns... SA, Glocks, Rugers, S&W, etc....

Here's the link to them...

Sportsmans Warehouse is a great store, I've purchased 3 guns from them in about a year and a half. Their people know what their talking about, and are quite curtious.
