The UGLY XD
I have been a 1911/CZ guy for my shooting years. I also like the HP and its classic looks. But, when I decided to buy tupperware, I went XD. Now I think it looks like a modern plastic pistol should - stout, utilitarian, and "manly" - can I say that!? It has something the Glocks don't - usually I don't like more complicated designs, but the XD looks cooler - IMHO.
Also, I saw all the two tone pics on the web - they don't do the bi-tone justice, In person, the bi-tone is very nice - very good satin stainless finish on these guns! |

The reason I bought mine was because the XD looks like an Acme black brick. In short, if it stops shooting I can just chunk it at the punk.
For real; the XD is just the best choice in its class for me. ( price, feel, reliability, safe to carry for most any dumas, and it's just cool to look at). IMHO |

when I first went shopping for a polymer gun I must admit I was thinking Glock, that is until I seen the XD's on display right next to them. Went home and began researching the XD. Went back to the store held each in my hand, now the Glock 23 felt ok in my hand I could live with it but the XD just melted right into my hand the fit was like WOW this feels great, it feels like part of my hand. I now own 3 XD firearms and will probably buy another one I am considering the XD 9MM Tactical for the range. Needless to say I am sold on the XD line of firearms, they are reliable, accurate, durable and,the ergonomics are unsurpassed at least in my hand especialy my XD 45 Compact I may even get another 45 Compact for the other hand but with a 5" barrel. SO many choices with the XD.

i just cant stand the way the glock looks. and i understand keeping to the traditional with you companies product but come on they really need to do an updated version . i could be wrong (dont really follow glock) but it seems to me that their design hasnt changed besides the internals.
they just look so darn goofy i love the look and feel of my xd45 service |

i've been sold on the XD the day i set my eyes on one. did some research and found out its arch enemy in sales is the glock. now glock has been around for a long long time and i know many people who rave about it. however just on sight alone, the xd models look so much cooler. the glock simply lacks any visual appeal. now im not basing my purchase simply off the way it looks ive done extensive shooting with both brand of gun, i just like the XD better all around. the glock just looks like a hunk of black plastic..

I have to say that GLock makes great guns. I really don't get the Glock bashing posted by some. I prefer XD's over Glocks. I have three XD's and one Glock. I had another first gen Glock but I sold it a few years back. I doubt I would ever part with my G-22 or the three XD's I now have. In fact I plan on at least one more XD. I just wish people would stop Glock bashing.

That's funny, your thread title "Ugly XD" is somewhat close to the title of the review of the XD 45c in this months U.S. Concealed Carry Association magazine: "An ugly gun you can love."
