my mag release on my xd40 service is messed up
ok well i can only push it from one side (the side i dont use!) i have it field striped right now and when i reach in and manually push down on the thing that clips to the magazine the button moves free really easy. and when i push from the side that works it seems perfectly normal, its not any harder then it used to be,
i have tried spraying solvent in there thinking that maybe something has jammed it up but no luck. its really weird because with no tension on it it moves just fine but when the tension is there i cant move it. and the fact that it moves fine from the other end is weird since they are moving the same part. i have never taken this part of the gun apart i have taken the rest of it (except for grip safety) plenty of times. i dont have a problem takeing it apart to check it out but i havent seen it in any of the guides so i dont want to go into it blind |

No problem - I just replaced my stock mag release with an extended one, so your timing was perfect.

i dont think it was just the goop on the mag release that made it like that since both sides of it looked the same. i wish i could have pin pointed what exactly it was. but hey at least i dont have to send it in thanks again |
