I usually clean at the range when done for the day . . . or switching guns. (gives my old fingers some rest between guns. Never shot close to 300+ a day, about a hundred per gun is my usual max . . . LOL I like to shoot them all when I take them on a date

Think in thousands instead of hundreds.

I have put more than 1k down the pipe in a day and the only concern is everything gets a bit hot after a few hours.

I was really surprised how hot the trigger itself can get, not enough to burn but it was VERY noticable how hot it got over time.

Impressive number of rounds for a single day.

What is this "too many" you speak of? It is a phrase not to be uttered in relation to number of rounds fired, nor in relation to number of guns, trucks, or dogs owned.

Put yourself in the corner.

The range isnt too far from me, but I have rarely have time to go that often. I tend to make it once every 2 months or so, and lately have been shooting 3-400 rounds from the XD. It goes very fast (I only bring 2 magazines to help slow this process down). I also shoot at least one of my other guns but typically no more than 50-100 rounds. This will usually last me an hour or more. Less if the girlfriend wants to tag along.

Still haven't gotten a speedloader yet (keep eyeing the UPLULA) so the limiting factor for me is loading magazines repeatedly. But I feel like I could shoot my Steyr M9-A1 all day.

My HK P7 PSP is another story....that sucker gets HOT!

just some food for thought. its not how many rounds you put threw it...... its what you learn in the process. practice makes perfect but bad practice just reinforces bad habits.

the only thing you may want to do if shooting lead all day is to spray break free down the barrel and run a boresnake through it once or twice, then shoot some more.

if you dont have those things....then just shoot it clean i have found that if shooting lead bullets all day its easier to clean if you run a mag of jacketed stuff down it before you go home.

That is definitely true! When I first started out, I would really begin to lose my concentration after 100 rounds or so. After that I was just reinforcing bad habits.
