I'm new to this forum, I've owned the XD40 in 4" for some time, I just got the 40 in subcompact. What I want to know is which sight mover would I need to change sights on these pistols. Will the Sig sight mover work ? Or is there one for the XD out there somewhere? I need to find out so I can place an order for one if it will work. Thanks in advance!!

what model sig is the sight mover for? The sig P225, 226, 228, 239 have the same sight dovetails as the xd.

I don't think it will due to the profile of the slide. I had to make some blocks to hold the XD slide. some of the sights on the XD's can be really tight!

So if I understand this right, the Sig models listed above, sight pusher "might" work, but even if it does it will be a tight fit. I found in another area on here, that folks say o just have them put on by a gunsmith because the one or two time use doesn't redeem the cost of the sight pusher. So I guess I may just figure out which sights I want and go that route. Thanks for your replies!

The rear sights on my XD 45 are too wide to fit my Sig MGW Sight Tool. The sig slides are also taller, so if the sights did fit, they would only be about halfway up in the slot.

The SIG factory sight pusher will work on an XD rear sight if you file the edges off the sight enough to fit the pusher block (been there, done it).
