My USP is the only gun I have that will let you rack the slide with the safety on.

I think the xd has too many safeties now.
You're an idiot, the XD has zero safeties that you actually have to operate to make the gun work, they are all user transparent, just don't use the thumb safety and everything will be ok.

+1 I like the transparent safeties... Never really notice them at all.. because I don't have to do anything.
I personally like the thumb safety.. but then again..If I wanted that I wouldn't of bought an XD in the first place.

Btw... calling someone an idiot works much better when you don't refer to someones ownership of an idiot.

This is one of the reasons I love my HK45USPc. If XD had this feature, I would have found my perfect gun. Alas, my search for the "perfect pistola" continues.

Yeah the single strongest feature of the USP is the total versatility of the safety/decocker/external hammer.

I don't think this would do much for a concealed carry situation. Reason being is the firing pin is mechanically blocked from firing even if it were to let go.
Correct me if I'm wrong...

i just got back from the shot show and i saw the safty. sa told me that for now it will only be on the 45' 4 and 5 inc. i took the gun apart and looked at the guts, they did a good job. if you are in L E it could be a good thing. if you shoot 1911's you might even like it. and yes it is ambi.
