Does anyone know if Springfield is considering releasing a 10mm? I think the XD platform and the 10mm would be a nice combo.

I think that has about the same chance as Sig and Beretta coming out with a 10mm....not much of one

I would be interested in checking one out if they had one. I dont know how popular the 10mm is though. Thats probably why they wont. The gap isnt real popular around here and I dont think SA sold a lot of those in the XD.

The XD-10mm is a subject that has been beaten to death on several occasions around here.

The 10mm cartridge is almost as dead as the 45GAP cartridge. Not because its a poor cartridge but simply it's never manage to find an application. Your only hope is that the gun gamers (USPSA and similar) have enough pull to get a 40S&W version build on an XD-45ACP frame and then you could have a 10mm version with a barrel swap. The 10mm is simply not a popular enough cartridge to warrant most companies investing the R&D and tooling costs needed to make a 10mm gun. They are unlikely to recover their cost on 10mm only sales. If they can tie in a competition market like a high-cap 40S&W then maybe.

I love my G17 but some of the hype over stuff like the G.A.P. is just ridiculous

It's a castrated 45ACP. How else does one say it's dead? Hey check out my 45GAP+P+P+P (it's almost like 45ACP!).
It is my opinion that the 10mm is a great cartridge, where I fall short on it is I have _NEVER_ seen them on shelves outside of going to a gun show. People simply don't stock it. The FBI just switched to the MP-10 because the MP-5 was too weak, but they're about the only ones using this round.

I had a Colt Delta Elite when they first came out. I liked it. Put a red dot sight on it and liked it even more, but the sight couldn't handle it. Also around the same time, I bought the SA Omega in 10mm. Vented, target sights, SA fiddled with the ejection port and trigger some and I loved it. Wish I still had them. Sold or traded both. Another of my stupid mistakes. If they make an XD10 I'll be near the front of the line for another one. Although arthritis vs. recoil wasn't much of an issue 20 years ago.
