First time XD owner...need some help please...
Hey everyone...
this is my second post, i introduced myself over in the new members area.... just bought today a brand spankin' new XD 9mm tactical model...what a sweet shooting gun.... my question is on disassembly.... after thouroughly reading the instruction manual i tried to break down the XD to clean it.... i removed the mag, locked the slide back, triple checked to make sure there was not a round in the chamber... i then pressed down on the slide stop and let the slide move forward a little bit, pulled the trigger and tried to get the slide off....it would not budge.... i retried it and it would not come off.....read the instructions again....same result.... well...i feel like an idiot because i did not let the slide go all the way FORWARD before i pulled the trigger....the slide then came off.... i am so used to glocks and berettas, that was a little different..... my question is, did i mess anything up by trying to get the slide off like that?????? i didnt try to really pull it off or anyting, just did it a few times....did anyone else do this their first time????? i am funny about stuff like that...LOL thanks Bruce |

Hey, from a paranoid fellow newbie.
I think you'll be ok. It is after all an XD (x-treme duty).

Before you know it you too will be keeping your XD in your saltwater fish tank. I like to keep the salinity level high in the tank so it increases the chances of my gun not keeping up with my perfect Glock tenifer finish! Just kidding, go shoot the heck out of it and get it dirty again!
