Bobby,
I am sorry to say that we contemplated the compact in 9mm and .40, but it looks like we will not see that configuration.

Have a great day!

Subject: Sales Email - Sent: Sat, 5 Jan 2008 20:39:24 -0500 - XD Compact 9mm

Are you guys going to be offering a Compact 9mm XD pistol other than the service model? There is a rumor on the internet that you are going to be offering this model with a model number of - XD9781HCSP06. Is this true ? If so, when will it be available? Thank you, Bob

I'm just curious, could you buy an XD-45 compact, substitute the .45 barrel with a drop in 9mm barrel of 4" (like the service model), and adjust the lips on the mag to accomodate 9mm rounds?

i have no idea if that would fit. I'm much too cautious to try something like that.
I wish I had to the skills to trim down a service 9 to a compact 9.

You're right. The opening for the barrel in the receiver would be wider in a .45 so the 9mm barrel probably wouldn't fit. I guess if you wanted a .45 service and a 9mm compact you could by the 9mm service and .45 compact and just swap the receivers. That would be a little expensive but you'd have two cool pistols.

Sounds like you would be a good candidate for, dare I say it, a GLOCK 19. Fits the size requirement you're looking for.

I'm curious how the XD9c goes from "ready to ship" to "that configuration doesn't exist" in two days. Does SA just have poorly/inconsistently informed CS reps or are they pulling a fast one for some reason?

I really only care because that's the one I really want.
