Get a ateel frame or aluminum frame handgun. I would look at CZ's or EAA Witness pistols. Don't discount a 1911 either. I just got one and now I know what all the excitement is about. They shoot like a dream. I love my CZ P-01 bigtime too. I'm jonsing for an EAA Witness Match in 9mm too. I hear great things about them and you can get them of under $500 with a match grade polygonal rifled barrel standard.

I don't realy know about the 1911. I shoot my father inlaws and it didn't shot worth a damn. But then again it sat around for 15 year with out being cleaned. I cleansed it a lubed it before hand. My first shoot have my left hand covering my face. I was more afraid of being behind the gun then infornt of it at the time. Maby something that isn't in as bad as shap as this one would be good. I hit the target ever time but I couldn't get a grouping on it at all.
And that was at 10 yards away

1911s are sweet...they're just a completely different animal. I love the one I just got. It's on my desk right now here at work, cocked and locked.

It helps that I work from home......and that I'm the boss.

If you plan on carrying a full sized gun, a 1911 is the way to go. They are slimmer than most other full sizes and parts can be had anywhere.

Do what I did and get a 9mm sc. But I really needed a 9mm, a surprisingly small 9mm to be said.
