AGP and Adorondo mag extention report

I have pretty much finished testing the AGP and Adorondo mag extentions.
I have AGP and Adorondo in 9mm and AGP in 45ACP.
The 9mm AGPs have worked perfectly from the get-go but they dont come with an extended spring and needs it, I used an Adorondo spring from thier 3 spring kit and it runs perfectly with it. The AGP floor plate is a bit more of a hassle than the Adorondo but I dont take my mags apart very often so I wont worry about that.
The AGPs for the 45 DO come with a +Power spring and they have also worked perfectly from the very begining. If using it with the plastic sleeve on full size mags in the 45 Compact you will have to knife off some little nubs inside the sleeve for them to seat properly in the mag well, no biggie.
The Adorondos have had some problems. At first they would fail to feed about halfway through the mag. After a few more magfulls they would only jam at the last round or two and not lock the slide back. After a few more magfulls they are working properly in all respects.

Overall I prefer the AGPs both because they function properly right out of the box ( with a +p spring ) and they look a bit better. The bottom of the AGP extention is angled to match the XD grip, they also match the rounded contour of the XD grip better, the Adorondos are more blocky and have a flat bottom.

I have several Arredondo mag extensions I used Wolf extra power springs, never had a problem with them.

+1 as they just extend the magazine length so shouldn't effect the feeding. If you are going to add extended capacity base pads, you should use the springs that go with them if you want them to work properly.

I have been using the Arrendondo extensions with my XD-40 using ISMI 140mm Glock 17 magazine springs and they have been flawless for me. I have several thousand rounds through those magazine in USPSA and 3-gun matches since I got them. Good Stuff and Limited/L-10 legal unlike the AGP.
