It may be entirely psychosomatic but... Between my XD40SC and my XD40 Service, I feel like my subcompact is a little more snappy on the recoil but the trigger also feels less like dragging a dead horse across gravel... just a tiny bit, though.

Funny you should mention the dead horse thing. I have borrowed an XD45 Service to try out at the range tomorrow. My .40 Service has a sweet trigger, but after a couple of dry fires the .45 feels like that which you described, only uphill!! WTH!?!?

Thanks for the response, I thought this thread had joined Jimmy Hoffa!!

Mine is different but my service is a 45! I say one kicks and one pushes so they are even close!

I'd rather have my XD and not need it, then need it and not have it....

I own the XD45 Service and the XD9SC. I carry the XD9SC 100% lately and I don't feel under powered ever. It's an easy gun to shoot and since I had Scott Sprimger install Tritium Heinie Slant Pro Straight 8's on it it is super accurate.

The recoil on the XD9SC is very managable IMHO. It has been 100% reliabel since the first day which is a huge plus for a carry gun.

As far as accuracy with the XD9SC, I can hit an 8" paper plate at 15 yards with 95% of the rounds since the new sights were installed and that's not real slow fire either. More like medium speed firing.
