shortening the grip
Have any of you XD owners shortened your 9mm or .40S&W tactical or service length XD's grip length to that of a sub-compact?
I've seen this done with Glock 19s. Just curious. |

I am thinking about doing it too. My gun is brand new and I am not sure I want to lose my warranty on. But I am going to carry it and I think a shorter grip will help hide it better. But any way if you do a search on this site you will find instructions and other sites you can send it to have it done. It does not seem that hard, but no more warranty if you do it.

There is a thread about this (of course right). Some have done it, and I heard Springfield will do it for a cost, but that may only apply to new guns.

If you do not want to do it yourself, try Bowie Tactical, he did mine for me about 4 years ago. Good luck in your quest.
