I know the fact that this could have happened anywhere is not comforting, and certainly won't make her feel better about moving.

Seriously, campaign for moving to a nearby state would be my solution to your feeling the pinch of living in CA and your rights to self defense. You have less freedom in CA than anywhere else on the west coast.

Other than that, consider joining a volunteer law enforcement organisation near where you live. This will get you some rights towards concealed carry after a while with your LEO ID. Sorry I couldnt' be more helpful than that.

Well I have been talking with my wife on it and she has given me Arizona, Oregon, and maby Nevada to move to.

Other than 'hot as hades', Arizona (specificly Pheonix) is nice enough. Never lived there, mind you, but I had friends there and visited often. On the other hand... They did end up moving to Kansas

When I lived in Massachusetts, the state required justification. My local P.D. had a note that said you will not use..., .., ..., etc. We will only accept, "any lawful purpose" and "target shooting".

Based on their experience, those two answers would pass the state board or whatever.
