I need help with my grip

Can any one recommend some web sites (or direct input) on the proper grip for a 5" tactial XD. I can't seem to get a good grip that prevents me from pulling the gun to one side or the other or that prevents my trigger finger from bumping into my grip hand while shooting.

Also, I'd like to see some instructions on breathing right and trigger control. I am used to a 1911 were the trigger slides straight back, not the xd trigger which follows a downward arc.

Springer Precision videos here for grip. Its pretty good in my opinon. Also look up youtube videos. I've found a couple from Leatham (SP?) that were pretty good also.

The Springer ones too -- highly instructional and impressive.

Great stuff.

One thing that might help you is clear the gun and then watch your finger press the trigger a few times. Get accustomed to the precise motion that will bring the trigger straight back without moving the rest of your hand at all. It's not always just squeezing your finger exactly straight back depending on the size of your hands and the way you grip the gun (don't know if I'm explaining this right but the familiar action of just squeezing your finger closed straight into what would be your fist (except for the fact that there's a gun in your hand) isn't always "it").

For breathing on a longer range shot, it's simple. Don't.

Spend a few days at the range with slow fire and longer distances to target and it will amaze you how much you learn about sight alignment, being conscious of exactly where every part of your body is and where the weight is in terms of stance, and trigger control.

Here is a previous post that coveres the grip question pretty well. I like the girl shooting the 45 Tactical at the end of the first springer video.
