Obvious Choice for Trigger work?
I won’t go into who does the best work. Both vendors have excellent reputations and a search on either will better acquaint one on the differences between two. To me it comes down to bang for the buck when considering what is involved. Springfield Armory is also a consideration but they seem to be higher priced than anyone else when you compare prices.
Referencing: http://www.canyoncreekcustom.com/uploads/Microsoft_Word_-_CC_XD_WO_04-06-07.pdf $135 for either carry (4-7#) or comp (2-4#) trigger weights using your parts Referencing: http://www.springerprecision.com/art/workorder.htm $150 for carry (4-5#) or $175 for comp (2.5#) trigger weights but you get new Springer sear, trigger bar, and springs. Those parts alone would cost $80 for the sear/springs and $60 for the trigger bar from: http://www.pistolgear.com/products.php?id=36 Springer also offers a 5% multi gun discount for trigger jobs (-parts) as well as a 10% military discount Since I want a carry job done to my 40SC it seems like an easy choice. The price difference for the comp weights is a fair amount more than the carry weight so if you want to go for a comp trigger the choice won’t be so easy. I just wanted to share what I’ve learned through my research. I have absolutely nothing to do with either vendor. Later, x |

I've had trigger jobs by both (4# CC "carry" trigger and a 3# SP "competition" trigger), and you really can't go wrong either way. I also have the drop-in stuff from SP in one XD, and it's very nice for a do-it-yourself mod... It rivals the 4# CC carry trigger, and I saved the $70+ shipping it back-and-forth to a gunsmith.

From what you posted, are you comparing $135 and $150 and coming to that conclusion?
Also, if you are going to carry, read the threads about any legal ramifications of having a modified trigger. No conclusive "fact" and a mix of both lots of opinions (opinions are less elbows and ...., everybody has 1 or 2) and some real experts. Shoot straight. BTW, I like the "2 1/2 safeties" my XD has: grip, 'double' trigger and the long pull before the sear breaks and gun shoots.

Springer did my custom work. I emailed both he and Canyoncreek, and Springer responded within hours. Never heard from Canyoncreek. Having said that, I read where both listed are very good at customizing the XD. Since one is in Oregon and the other in Illinois, maybe you can select the one nearest you for a cheaper FedX/UPS cost for shipping.
