Springfield xd-best gun ever...My review of the Tactical

So today was the first time i have shot either of my XDs. I picked them both up wednesday and havent had any time to shoot until today.

well, let me say the tactical is AWESOME! I put so many shots over the top of each other(near the bullseye) it was amazing. I am quite a novice shooter, as i have only been to the range about 6 times. But with this gun, i felt as if i had years of experience. The recoil was straight back on the tactical with almost NO muzzle flip. Thats it...none! I wasnt doing double taps or rapid fire, but i could do a shot a second and just put them all in the same spot, and with almost no loss of sight picture.

I am in love with this gun. I almost want to sell my glocks. The subcompact XD shot much more controlled than my glock 27 as the recoil on the 27 is almost uncontrolable. These XDs are just the easy and best shooting guns ive ever tried.

The blued finish does suck though, as i have quite a few scratches on the tactical just after today. Oh, well i think it is a good excuse to get some hard chrome!!!

Thanks for all the advice and helping me make the right choices!
Matt

+1 on the xd9 tactical! It's one of my most accurate nines, and that includes a 226 Sport Stock , over twice the cost! In all fairness, I have found the Glock 34 to be similar but I still shoot the xd9 better. I got the GLock for ISPC because I don't have the heart to scratch up the XD in a Kydex holster. Careful - the tacticals are addictive! I like the XD Tactical so much that I got one in 45 Gap too - veryy smooth trigger and just as enjoyable!

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your XD!

I'd have to say that very very few times can you take a brand new weapon, take it outta the box, and make small groups with it..with very little practice....if any at all. I doubt if it's just "luck" I think it's gotta be the overall design of the XD platform....the gun really is designed "around the hand" for a more natural feel.
Enjoy your new pistol bro...but remember....it's a weapon....in no way a "new toy"

Send an email concerning your finish to megan@springfield-armory.com and they will refinish it free of charge. I sent both my XD9 and XD357 back. Even got them to do the XD9 in OD Green
