1st time out packing
The wife and I went out to Sams, AC MOORE, grocery store, etc this afternoon and I decided I'd bring the new XD40 SC along for the ride. I don't have a holster yet, so I just stuck it into my waistband where it was the most comfortable, threw on a sweatshirt and went out the door. At first it was a little uncomfortable riding in my truck, but once I got it positioned a little better that went away. Walking around in the stores actually wasn't bad at all. It didn't move around on me or anything. I'm pretty certain no one noticed, my wife doesn't even know I had it with me. I think it helped me learn what I'm going to need in a holster. Something with a forward cant and something that sits pretty low into the waistband. Those leather backed holsters from crossbreed look real nice. That was the only bad thing about carrying without a holster, the gun would occasionally dig into my side. Something I think would be solved by the leather backing. Any comments or advice?? I'd love to hear ya'lls input on this.

Let the games begin! I bought a simple DeSantis IWB holster for my XD40SC and it works well. I am going to a gun show tomorrow to try some others out because I would like to find something a bit more comfortable. Also I am thinking something with 2 clips instead of 1 because when I draw the gun, the holster pulls up and almost un-hooks itself.

I totally recommend the crossbreed supertuck. With my XD40SC I can't hardly notice it.

Please tell me you weren't "one up" while Mexican Carrying. Get the Crossbreed Suptertuck, you won't be disappointed, heck they have a trial period and lifetime guarantee, how can you beat that action.

Great holster for the XD
I'm a new XD40 subcompact owner. I went to our local gun show yesterday and bought a Blackhawk Sportster Serpa holster. It's a Kydex IWB paddle that has all kinds of adjustment points for tilt, cant, etc. Plus, the guy selling them threw in a belt loop attachment that replaces the paddle if you just want to put it on a belt. Even the loop attachment is adjustable for tile, cant and width of your belt! Well-thought out and designed. Blackhawk makes a lot of tactical equipment for LEOs and the military. My favorite feature of the holster is the release lever... once the weapon is holstered, it's held securely and can't be pulled out or fall out unless the release lever is depressed. It's right in line with your trigger finger as you're drawing the weapon. Check out the Blackhawks; I think you'll like it.

I like to carry my SC9 Mex. style "one-up" with the trigger safety taped down for quick first shot draws!
